Sagamore: Beginning with the Sunset
At Sagamore, the design really starts with the land.
From the earliest site visits, it was clear that the western edge of the property held something special. The lake opens up just enough to catch the full arc of the setting sun, especially in winter, when the light stretches low across the horizon and reflects off the ice. Positioning the house to engage that moment became a guiding move.
Now, even during construction, that decision is already paying off.
As the structure rises, you can see how the building meets the landscape. Openings align with long views across the lake, and the glass is beginning to catch the warm glow of sunset. At certain times of day, the light reflects back onto the structure itself, blurring the line between what is built and what is beyond.
It’s a reminder that siting is not just a technical exercise. It shapes how a project feels, how it performs, and how it’s experienced over time.
At Sagamore, that relationship is already taking form.
