Another CPHC on the RA Team

River Architects is proud to share that Pin-Han Su has earned the Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC) designation through Phius, the Passive House Institute US.

This certification reflects advanced expertise in designing to the Passive House Standard, a rigorous framework focused on energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and long-term building performance.

Since joining River Architects, Pin-Han has contributed to a range of high-performance residential and adaptive reuse projects, supporting energy modeling, visualization, and design coordination efforts. His work helps translate building science principles into thoughtfully executed architecture across the firm’s portfolio.

River Architects’ commitment to Passive House design can be seen in projects such as China Pond PH, Ridgeline House, Seminary Hill Cidery, and The Bank Lofts, each reflecting a tailored approach to climate-responsive design, material integration, and energy performance. These projects demonstrate how Passive House strategies can be adapted across diverse typologies, from single-family homes to multifamily and historic reuse.

With Pin-Han’s certification, River Architects now has seven Certified Passive House Consultants on staff, further strengthening our in-house expertise. This depth of knowledge allows the team to deliver buildings that are not only environmentally responsible, but also durable, comfortable, and architecturally refined.

As demand for high-performance buildings continues to grow, River Architects remains committed to advancing sustainable design through both technical rigor and design excellence.

Congratulations to Pin-Han on this achievement! We look forward to his continued contributions to the firm’s work.
