Project Architect with Passive House Experience and Strong Revit Skills Wanted

River Architects PLLC located in Cold Spring, NY, is seeking a full-time Project Architect with Passive House Experience, preferably a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC).

We are dedicated to creating progressive architecture ingrained in LEED, Passive House, and Living Building Challenge principles while educating and collaborating with professionals across NY State. In addition to our private clients, we also work with the New York Department of State to assist 40+ cities and towns by providing design and industry expertise for energy efficient building practices.

We are looking for a professional Architect who is proactive, resourceful, effective, self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented, and disciplined. We offer this great opportunity to collaborate with us in our process of merging high design with the technically demanding guidelines of Passive House and Net Zero architecture.

Candidates must have a Bachelor of Architecture degree or a Master of Architecture degree and 3+ years of Architectural Design experience.

Candidates must have:
• BIM & AutoCAD experience in a professional setting
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup and MS Office
• Experience with Bluebeam and WUFI Passive is a plus
• Experience in Passive House and Net Zero projects
• A strong sense of environmental responsibility
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
• Ability to lead various projects and coordinate teams proactively
• Great work ethic, sense of responsibility and accountability
• Creative problem-solving skills

Architectural Intern with Strong Revit Skills and Passive House Interest Wanted

River Architects PLLC located in Cold Spring, NY, is seeking a full-time Architectural Intern. For successful candidates graduating in a few months, we’re willing to start with remote work part-time and transition to full-time, in-person work arrangement upon graduation. This is a great opportunity for the person seeking a well-rounded training on how to merge high design with the technically demanding guidelines of Passive House and Net Zero architecture.

We are dedicated to creating progressive architecture ingrained in LEED, Passive House, and Living Building Challenge principles while educating and collaborating with professionals across NY State. In addition to our private clients, we also work with the New York Department of State to assist 40+ cities and towns by providing design and industry expertise for energy efficient building practices. In this role, Interns will become familiar on how to apply these sustainable goals on diverse new and existing building types.

The candidate must have:
• A professional degree in architecture (BArch preferred)
• A min. of 1 years of experience in producing BIM-based CD’s
• Architectural detailing and technical skills
• High interest in Passive House and Net Zero design principles
• Strong sense of environmental responsibility
• Excellent design portfolio
• Sharp communication skills
• High proficiency in Revit 2022~23, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketchup and MS Office software
• Experience with Rhino, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Bluebeam, SketchUp, Enscape, Grasshopper & WUFI Passive experience a plus
• Ability to work with teams as well as work independently and stay focused on given tasks
• Great work ethic and sense of responsibility and accountability
• Creative problem-solving skills

Duties: taking various building types from concept design through construction, exploring new technology in architecture, coordinating with consultants and project staff, designing, detailing & drafting, creating presentation materials, researching products, communicating with vendors, coordinating contract documents, visiting construction sites without assistance, attending meetings, etc.
