This kitchen was designed for a young couple living in a Manhattan Co-Op apartment. The husband had great aspirations to cook gourmet meals but only on special occasions to entertain friends. Day to day cooking was minimal, using not much more than a microwave and a toaster oven.
To express their lifestyle, we proposed a convertible kitchen that was a translucent box that opened up for a festive party. The pivoting cabinet would convert to a bar, and a dining table and custom, pull-out chairs tucked below the bar would seat a party of eight.
