The High Line Green Roof and Envelope Consultation
The developer of this building hired RA to resolve several problematic areas in the exterior envelope. The project grew to encompass the design of a green roof, terrace and outdoor kitchen for the penthouse apartment. What remained after dodging skylights, mechanical rooms & fans was an intimate roof garden with terrific views of the Highline Park and the Empire State Building. Designed included meticulously thought out relationships between the planting area, river stone ballast, ipe deck, custom cabinetry and other amenities.
